What are the benefits of choosing a qualified electrician to install solar power for your home?
- My name's David Lipinski, I'm the owner and operator, director, of Illuma Electrical Group. We specialise in solar and battery installation, sales and servicing, and I've actually been working in the industry for around 10 years. The locations we service are around the Hume area, all the way out to Maryborough. We basically do a lot of country jobs, a bit of off-grid work as well. Anything to do with generators, we're all over. Yeah a 100 kilometres or 200 kilometres within Craigieburn.
We try and really just educate the customer, on what the system is, what its capabilities are, limitations of the system as well. Not giving the customer unrealistic expectations of, you know, what the system can and can't do.
So, I started my apprenticeship when I was around 21. I went into the solar industry and basically that four year period when I was an apprentice, I went to around four, three or four different solar companies. And watched how, you know, these companies would start up and then fail fairly quickly. And it made me realise that there was an opportunity to build a company that was, you know, reliable and going to be around for a long time. And that kind of made me want to start my own business, and from that it's kind of grown into this thing that was purely subcontracting to now being a full fledged retailer. And now it's, yeah, really trying to get the most for our customers.
So our philosophy for the customer is really to, you know, be there to really guide the customer through and kind of teach them about, what the solar is. There's a bit of information around solar but there's not a huge amount of information around batteries and how they're installed. Where they can go, you know, all the stuff that is kind of left out in I would say a lot of, a lot of sales. We try and really just educate the customer, on what the system is, what its capabilities are, limitations of the system as well. Not giving the customer unrealistic expectations of, you know, what the system can and can't do.
Also, we're just really focused on trying to give the customer a good option and a good outcome for what they are really going to use, you know. If they're looking for a system that's going to give them heaps of back up with a generator and all this stuff, we're not going to sell them a system that's a small hybrid. So it's really kind of about focusing on the customer's needs, And from sale to installation I'm kind of onsite or overseeing the installation. So, you know, I'll either be involved in the sales process and also the installation process. Right up until the end of the job, where, you know, we try and always leave a smile on the customer's face. Happy customers is what it's all about.
