The old saying of you get what you paid for is no more true in solar than it is in a whole lot of other areas. But people just really need to understand that if you're going to pay a small amount of money, you will generally end up with something that is going to last you a very short time. The company that's installed it will not be around to try to warranty it. The manufacturer that's made those panels or the inverters will not be around to honour the warranty, and ultimately you're left holding the bag.
A huge part of how a customer should make decision isn't solely based on what panels do I go for? What inverter do I go for? What company do I go for? What racking mount, where should I put it? How should I go about it and getting it done? For us it's a holistic view on an approach that people should have. Everything can be looked at as individuals, but if you look at it in the group of, this is what the end result should be, this is what my expectations are, and this is the company that can achieve it, and we try to meet those expectations as best as we can.
The point of matching great quality panels with a really poor quality inverter will get you a poor result. Because you will have a panel that will last the test of time, will last 25 years. You match that up with a poor quality inverter. In two years time, you will have a system that just sitting there doing nothing until you realize it's doing nothing. That's money lost, that's reduction of coal powered power that you've consumed lost, for no reason other than just choosing a poor result. That result being the choice of having made a really poor inverter selection.
So match it up with the best panel that you're able to afford with the best inverter that you're able to afford. That combination of the two will get you the best result and the best outcome for yourself. All of that intertwined with the quality installer, making that installation. Quality is paramount, quality product, quality installation, quality results. So really understanding what goes into the process of the quality design, the quality selection of product, the quality installation process and you'll end up with a quality result.
Can cheaper solar power systems still be good quality?
