Choosing a quality product and a quality panel is only half the system. We need to insure the inverter and the inverter technology, is suited to the residence and the property. Latest technology inverters and microinverters and optimisers allow us to check in on the system. All we need is an internet connection at the property for us to connect our inverter system to that connection. This allows us to track the generation of the system. Monitoring for solar systems allows your installer to keep an eye on things, and you to keep an eye on things while you're not at home. You get a text message alert, you might get an email from your system to tell you its underperforming. Monitoring is critical these days in allowing us to track the generation of the system. Gone are the days of just having a screen on your inverter. These days we can see the data we can see the performance we can get error alerts if they're ever available.
The monitoring will allow you to track your system better, and then depending on the inverter chosen, our minimum warranty at the moment is a 10 year inverter warranty. Warranties are important to insure that if something goes wrong that the supplier and the company that is providing it is going to be around to help and service that system in the future. Warranty is your insurance policy. Without a company that you can rely on, without a decent warranty, you could end up with a system that needs to be replaced rather than serviced or fixed. We choose quality products because we don't want the liability in 10 years. We're going to be around to support our products, so we need to insure that the decisions that you're making, the decisions we're making, are going to be able to sustain the system for the life of the product.
Does higher quality inverter technology give homeowners better solar power monitoring?
