Bathurst to me is a town that, it's nice and quiet compared to a city environment but you get a mixture of both, city and country living.
- Look our business tagline is advice, service, assurance, and it's about giving the customer great advice, advice that I'd expect someone to me. We want the customer to have assurance in the products and services that we've provided for them.
- A customer wants to put solar on, obviously the first thing is to reduce their energy prices, they want a good return on investment, obviously energy prices are going to increase, they're looking at reducing that cost.
- [Rob] That's what they want, that's exactly what they want, they want a system that they've got full confidence in, that they know that the system is going to perform.
- [Chris] Bathurst has got a climate that is 40 degrees plus in summer and minus eight in winter and sometimes we can even have four seasons in one day.
- I did a fair bit of research on the web looking at what panels were around, saw LG were one of the leading producers of panels. We want a production throughout the day, that's why we chose LG, the high capacity panel and more capacity in low light for winter use.
- [Chris] And that's right, LG ticks all the boxes when you're looking at the temperature coefficients and power factors of the panels.
- It's imperative to look at both price and efficiency as reviewed, as assessed by as many sources as you can find. Price is one determine of course in life but definitely not the only one.
- We didn't look for the lowest price system, we looked for a system that would last and had a reputation for quality.
- Look there's a mix of customers out there that some of them are well researched and know what to look for. But there's a lot out there that are targeted that have no idea and they will just take whatever's put in front of them at the best price thinking that they're getting apples for apples and they're not.
- And it comes down to education, if you buy a crap solar system, realistically you're going to have to replace it within five years, if you have to replaced it in five years, then any return on investment that they might've been thinking about has gone out the window because you now have to factor in a removal of the first system, installation of a second system, where if they'd just looked and done a bit more research to start off with and put a quality system in, they wouldn't of been having these issues going forward.
- Installation is a major part of the job and if you've got quality products that aren't installed properly, it's not going to last. We won't cut corners, that's why we take pride in our installations.
- We used Bathurst Electrical to install the solar system. I've used them previously for other work and quite happy with their workmanship and professionalism and they did an excellent job of doing the installation.
- For picking a good installer, you're looking at somebody that's going to be there, that can give you technical advice, give you support, we want to make sure that the end customer has a great product that's not going to just last for five years, it's going to last for a lifetime.
- Anyone living in a regional center, if they want to see that regional center flourish, you always look to buy local where you can, it's worth doing that to support the community and continue to make the community viable and flourish.
- A high quality panel like LG, carries a good warranty period, 25 year performance warranty, 25 year manufacturer's warranty backed by LG Electronics, so you know that you have got peace of mind while that system is on the roof of your house or premises.
- Yeah that's correct, you don't have anything to worry about because of LG's warranty and because of the company, LG itself, they're there and they're there for the long haul.
How does a high quality solar power system and a local Bathurst installer help you achieve a better long term investment?
