The diversity of our area is amazing, the location having the escarpment on one side, having the ocean on the other, It's a nice place to call home. Our region is predominantly coastal, so there's going to be high winds, there's going to be high salt, a lot of our properties that we've done installations for have been beachfront, so it's going to have more exposed to the elements than some of the more inland areas. So the ability to withstand and have high salt ratings have high quality anodisations, just make sense to make sure that the gear is going to last a long time, the last, the warranty period and more Our general environment is, it's just, yes, it's really harsh, it's coastal, the product that we use matches the environment that we put it in We service the greater region of the Illawarra as well as touching some of the sections of the Southern Highlands and in the coast a bit.
We've been servicing these areas for almost 30 years in the electrical game and 10 years in the solar. This is our area, we understand, if you tell me where you're from straight away I already have an idea of where, that might be designed complexities or design restrictions, so we'll then work with you to go and as best as we can around those restriction. Were all electricians, so all the people that will carry installation for federal solar or federal solar employees, so we carry out our installation, no subcontractors, therefore there's a pride in our work within the size of our own company, we've got our own CC installers and designers, so really understanding what goes into the process of the quality design, the quality selection of product, the quality installation process, and you'll end up with a quality result.
The quality aspect is it that we ensure that aesthetically the installation is pleasing, we use all-black racking for all our residential installation because it might as well function well and look well. The design aspect is extremely important, having a completely oversized system just for the sake of going big or go home also makes as much sense as going too small, size the system according to your usage and future usage. Understand that there's going to be changes and evolutions as it goes. Things like taking battery and self-consumption, is a must. Things like electric vehicles, electric vehicles are not that far down the track. Within a few years, your next vehicle is likely to be an electric vehicle or a hybrid.
So having excess generation or at least enough to cover that future usage will make sense now and into the future. For the moment, the majority of places we're able to have a feed-in tariff. That feed-in tariff is any excess generation that occurs from your system, when it goes back into the grid, it will create a certain credit, which could be whatever amount is set by your retailer. That credit can then start to offset some of your evening consumption while the sun is not shining or towards your daily charges of just the fact of being connected to the grid. So for us, there's an obvious win on environmental case. There's an obvious win on return investment case. There's an obvious win on reducing your bills on a quarterly basis. So it's a win win situation, there is no negative view on why you should get solar for your home or why you should get solar for your business.
A product like LG having 25 years product warranty versus a lot of other competitors that will offer a 10 year product warranty. When you break down the cost of that warranted period and you break it down on a yearly basis, you have the cost divided by 10 that's your cost per year. Then you look at the similar costs slightly higher because it's a premium product, you divide that by 25 and that will be your cost per year. You put those two together and LG stands out every day of the week. It just makes sense.
So for us, LG panel, LG quality, it's a direct association. If you were to do a very simple Google search, what is the best panel available to you, right now in the market in Australia and all your searches will come up LG. There's a reason, it's not my opinion, this is independent research opinions that has been throughout tests and generation tests and efficiency tests and viability tests and financial tests, to see why is this company the standup product? All of that has been provided with evidence that LG just stands out, heads above the rest.
How does the ocean coastline effect the performance and longevity of a solar power system?
