The price was a factor in selecting the solar system, but it wasn't the, we didn't look for the lowest-priced system. We looked for a system that would last, and had a reputation for quality. I looked mainly on the Web. We got multiple quotes from different suppliers to see what was around, and then looked at the fact sheets and whatever else, and reviews for those systems, and then made our decision. I went through and looked at what panels were available, what inverters were available, and sort of came through an analysis of what I thought would work.
The main motivation to install solar was to save money on the power bills, but they'll also give us a bit of extra capacity in our usage, and what we could possibly do in the future.
Looking to the future, we're looking maybe putting some extra panels up, facing different direction to get more morning or afternoon power to cover it. It is important to buy quality within the range that you can afford. There's no point going too low in what you're buying. You need to keep that in mind. But yeah, go from what you can afford. The best that you can afford. The best you can afford, basically for peace of mind and longevity of the equipment. We hope to have this system lasting for the next 15, 20 years. While we're still here.
How important was the price when Gary was looking to buy a solar power system?
