So today we're in Croydon South in the South East suburbs of Melbourne. We're installing 6.6 kilowatts of Jinko solar panels with Enphase microinverters, and that's also coupled with a Tesla Powerwall 2, which has 13.5 kilowatt hours of battery storage. A lot of people nowadays we're finding are choosing batteries. It has grown rapidly over the last six months, I must say. A lot of contributing factors would be power outages are a big one, obviously depending on the area. And also we find that people, they've got all this excess solar power they're not using, and instead of sending it to the grid, they want to harness that themselves and put that into a battery. So the client's energy usage wasn't huge. Their main target was to be 100% independent from the grid. As a bonus, they will also have power during a blackout as well.
Yeah, so the client here is a big believer in renewable energy, obviously, with their new solar panel system, which will help provide power to their house during the day. We also have the battery which gets charged from their solar, and the battery will discharge at night, effectively meaning that they don't have to buy any power from the grid. So the client now will be 100% energy efficient, obviously charging the battery from the solar panels during the day, and then at nighttime, they're just reaping the rewards by using their own power, which they've charged during the day. And the good thing about it, it's all green power. It's all from their renewable energy sources that we've installed. Our customers are always so happy after the installation.
We don't just instal the system and say, See ya later. We follow up with them as soon as we install. We let them know what's happening with their system after the installation, a step-by-step guide. We inform about all the paperwork sent to the retailer to organise their feed-in tariff. And we also send them a detailed user manual on how their system operates and set up their monitoring for them as well. And the good thing about that, we also monitor their system as well, so if they think there's any issues, we can have a look at that online as well.
It's very, very, very important to get a good installer. A solar panel investment is probably the second-biggest investment besides buying your house. It's a 25-year investment, so if you're going to spend big bucks, you might as well do it properly. Pay a little bit more, get a good quality electrician. Don't go for the cheapest sale because you'll get the cheapest installation, and it won't last 25 years. So getting solar doesn't just help on your electricity bills. It also contributes to the environment and the long-term effects of the environment. If we can reduce the carbon footprint, the world's going to be a much better place.
