Scott, the owner is putting in a Tesla Powerwall as well. He's got a Tesla car and he said, we're putting in a couple of car charges. Well Scott wanted a really high quality system. He didn't want to scrimp and save and do it on under a budget I believe. The size of the system has been perfect for him. He's now charging his cars with a car charger that we've installed as well that can make sure that he's only using the solar electricity off the roof. So he's not drawing any power off the grid for a slow charge. We're also installing his Tesla car charger, which will allow him to draw at about 22KW. So it's a really fast charger if he wants to charge his car up quickly. This system has got him pretty much off the grid, he's not actually buying any energy from the grid. He's in fact, he's putting more in than he's taking out. So, it's been a real successful install and as you can see, quite a beautiful looking install as well.
Here Scott's installed 40 panels on the roof here. The brief was he wanted to put in a wine fridge and he wanted to have electric cars and he wanted a battery. So when we first put the system in a year or so ago, we did oversize the panels. He's punching out somewhere around 40 to 50KW hours a day, which has got him quite self-sufficient. The battery that he's put in, a Tesla Powerwall, stores thirteen and a half kilowatt hours. So he's making enough power to be self-sufficient. Well what he's done is he's put a system in that has got flexibility. Okay so moving forward, if he wants to add some other dimensions into it, we can do that with the technology that is installed. Okay so Tesla also upgrade firmware within their, within their framework as well. It's like a bottle of fine wine. The system can just mature and get better as time goes by with, with upgrades of firmware and upgrades of hardware as well.
Look, I think anyone investing in a system like this, you know, there's two parts to the equation. One's money, one's the environment. And I think most people are environmentally conscious that they're are investing this much money on it. Definitely yes.
What solar power system was required to eliminate the electricity costs of Scott's home in Sydney?
