Hi, my name's Frank. We've build a new house at Durham Lead. We came from living in town to out here, though from start to finish it took us roughly three years to build out here, and that was from start to finish, obviously getting all the permits, council permits and excavating, building, from start to finish three years. No, I don't miss neighbours, we actually chose this because we have no neighbours. We're in the bush, we're remote, as you can probably see, not only that, the cost of living with the price of rising electricity bills and gas and water, and so yeah, we chose to live a self-sufficient lifestyle and really good to know that you've got no bills. You're self-sufficient, you're living off the land.
We've invested in the solar panels. The reason why we invested in them is because they've got a 25 year product warranty on them. We went through about three to four different companies. Some of the other companies that we actually went through, they were selling the Chinese brand. I think they only had an eight to 10 year warranty on their solar panels.
Yeah, no, it looks really sharp. Matches the style of the house. Yeah, so we're totally off grid and we've got the lithium batteries, yeah, convenience of no bills. When they've installed the solar system, they've actually installed the touch screen, so we can monitor and see everything that's going on with it, which is very helpful. It's very cost-effective. I liked the idea of not paying for water, not paying for electricity, being totally self-sufficient. It's absolutely great.
Why did Frank decide to invest in a high quality off-grid solar power system?
