What Ryan is looking at there, he's looking to offset his electricity usage. He is using the solar to do that. With the way the system's set up, he's going to be able to, down the track, add battery storage to it, so he can offset in the evening. A new build energy-efficient home, looking to get the best system that they could on that roof, multiple aspects and all facing on the front roof, flattish section at the back, he's looking for value, value for money, and performance. So he's looking for this, a good system performance, and he's looking for something that will enhance the value of his property in the longer term. He's going to do a bit of load shifting, so he's going to put a battery system in there at some stage. We also want to be able to know that what we've put on the roof, is the quality product. You're not going to have to go back and service it or replace it. You need certainty.
You need to know that what you're putting on the roof will last, and will perform to the specifications and will perform to your needs. So having something on the roof that is a quality product, it's like almost set and forget, but you want to have the assurance that it's going to be there. It's going to do the job that you need it to do. So it's going to last. So you got to have something that's going to perform and not have any issues down the track. I live in and around Ballarat. I work in and around Ballarat. I want to be able to, if somebody stops you in the street thank me for the product that they've put on the roof and not bag it, because something's happened with it, that's due to the fact that panel are poor, the installations poor. I don't want to have that. I want to be able to walk through town and know that if somebody sees me, then I've done a quality job for them.
Why did Ryan choose to invest in a higher quality solar panel for his home in Ballarat?
