I believe that solar is a long-term investment and the amount of energy that we're producing is definitely going to cover our bills every month, and it will also maybe cover some of our other utility bills. The payback period I believe will be shorter than what I anticipated, and I think that in the current economic climate, getting solar is actually a really good long-term investment. It may even be better than having money in the bank, or buying shares because you are getting a return every single day on your investment. And if you choose a quality panel, then the investment will go on and keep producing over the longer term and a greater amount of power. And I think that's really important because you're spending the money to have it installed so you want to have a really good system.
Definitely do your own research. I would interview the people that you would like to consider to install your system. I would get the biggest system that you can possibly get and put on your roof. I would also consider the aesthetics of where you're going to put it and how it's going to look, because I think that's important as well. You want it to look nice on your home, and also for your neighbours. And I think that we all need to think about being positive about the environment and producing more solar electricity. And we have such a huge amount of sun here in Adelaide and in Australia, we would be crazy actually not to do it. So I think it's a really excellent environmental thing to do, long-term investment.
I'm very happy with the choice, I would recommend it to anybody else. I'd say go with a quality product because in the long run, you'll be happier with it. Oh, I've definitely put my money where my mouth is, yes. And I thought it was actually better to maybe pay a little bit more, because in the long run, it will give you the return and you won't be sorry that you've done it.
