So when we were looking into the solar process, we did a bit of homework on the panels and the type of panels that we wanted, the quality of panels that we wanted. Yeah we did that research into the panels, because we're in it for the long haul. We're a long-term family run business and we want a quality product. Yeah so we're expecting to reduce our energy usage by about 120,000 kilowatt hours a year, which in dollar figures it could represent up to $140,000 a year of savings. So it's quite large and has a five-year payback, so yeah to us it was a no brainer.
With a solar system it was important to us to get a system that was low to no maintenance and have a long life. We've got a lot of day-to-day jobs to do on this operation and we don't need extra work. Because of the increased productivity, increased performance that they represent, in especially low lights which we have up here quite often in North Queensland. And also the, the quality of the product, the extended warranty and yeah just the overall quality of the product. Looked at a couple of things, looked at the product and we looked at some of their past work, the quality of their work and what they can offer service backup wise. So yeah, that was important to us.
Ultimately chose them because of the product they offer, and the service, the backup service that we're going to get from them. Yes definitely we feel comfortable spending the money with them, investing the money with them, because we are going to get the service after the product is installed and we know we've got a quality product at the end of the day.
Why were high quality solar panels and a local installer important to Dave from Serra Farming?
